Mrs. Semprini's middle school students are working hard preparing for their Mock Trial contest in Mount Vernon later this month.

Preschool was pretty excited to have visitors from the First State Bank visit and gift us with fun ghost treats to take home! The kids were very excited about their gift and wanted to learn more about what “bank workers” do! Thank you again to First State Bank for making the preschoolers’ day on Thursday!

There was a lot of spooky things happening over the week!
The preschool classes celebrated their Halloween parties on Wednesday - the favorite activity of the day was reading “How to Catch a Monster” and creating and naming our own monsters! 👻🧡

The Book Fair is here and ready for you! We're open Monday & Wednesday mornings from 7:45 - 8:10 then Tuesday & Thursday nights during conferences (3:00 - 7:00) in the auditorium (peek Mr. Nolton on the stage working hard on the Spamalot set). Hope to see you at the fair!

Early in-person absentee voting is available now through election day on Tuesday, November 4.

Montezuma residents will vote on two (2) measures:

Questions 1: Montezuma Community School District Public Measure SP (vote on the front page) – This vote authorizes the School Board to issue General Obligation Bonds of up to $6,250,000 to fund the proposed school projects.

Question 2: Montezuma Community School District Public Measure SQ (vote on the back page) – This vote is to renew our Revenue Purpose Statement (RPS), which is separate (completely independent) from the proposed school projects. The RPS must be updated and/or renewed periodically as required by the Iowa Legislature.

Our School Board members Nichole Bushong and Matt Mann along with Superintendent Rich Schulte explains the proposed #MonteWay School improvement plan at the roundtable discussion at Longhorn Saloon in Barnes City. Bushong shared “We received a lot of feedback from the community members and teachers. This plan doesn’t just fix the things from them in the ‘right here and right now,’ it makes a lasting change. Look what arrived today‼️ A week from today we will host our Fall Scholastic Book Fair. Starting tomorrow be looking in your kids' book bags for their Book Fair Wish Lists😍📚

“We are investing I getting the right things done for the kids. We just wan the best for them,” Superintendent Schulte states and explains the proposed project. Community Member Peggy Watts presented the signed petition papers to the board to which accepted and approved to move the bond to the November 4th election for a vote.

Señora Stockman & her Spanish students went to Newton for a live cultural experience that celebrated the heart & soul of Latin America through music & dance! Afterwards they enjoyed authentic Mexican food & an authentic Mexican store.

Preschool had a fun day visiting the fire station today learning about our EMS workers, the equipment in the ambulance, and the importance of fire safety! The field trip ended with the best part, a firetruck ride! We are very thankful for the men and women who serve in our community! 🚒🔥

Mrs. Fiebelkorn's 7th grade Life Skills class has a great time making fleece tie pillows!

The Junior Class went to a college fair hosted by Central College yesterday. after the fair, they toured campus, met with admissions, and had lunch in their dining hall. So much ice cream was consumed! They learned a lot and had a great experience. Thank you, Central!
