Montezuma Elementary School

Montezuma Elementary is a small school in rural Iowa. We currently enroll roughly 275 students in grades pre-kindergarten through sixth grade. That means our average class size is 18 students. This certainly allows our staff to know your child very well.

At Montezuma Elementary our greatest asset is the people working in our building. Each person strives to do what is best for the students. This commitment is seen in relationships with students, the quality instruction, and high expectations.

We are proud to announce that Montezuma Elementary has been designated as a 'Universal' school in regards to the Early Literacy Initiative.  This means that over 80% of our students have met benchmark on the early literacy screening tools.  88% of our students met the threshhold with the state average being 70%.  We are extremely proud of the hard work our staff and students put in each day to ensure such high achievement!
