Junior High Art Course

  • 6th Grade: 6th Grade Art - 1 year

    • This course allows students to develop/continue to develop creative expression through various modes which could include: drawing, painting, sculpting, crafts, etc.

High School Art Courses

  • Art I-1 credit - 9th-12th -Both semesters

    • Students will explore elements of design and photography.

  • Art II - 9th-12th -Both semesters

    • Students will go over and understand the elements of drawing and painting.

  • Art III - 1 credit - 9th-12th - 2nd Sem

    • Students will learn about three dimensional crafts, specifically 3-D and ceramics.

  • Art IV - 1 credit - 11th & 12th - Both Semesters

    • Independent study course.

  • Set Design - 1 credit - 9th-12th - 1st Sem

    • Explore the aspects of set design and construction for musicals, plays and speech and drama. Students will work with a variety of tools including power and regular tools. Sets will be constructed out of wood, other materials and painting techniques.

Former High School Art Courses

  • 3-D–1 credit – 9th-12th – Both semesters

    • Explore aspects of three-dimensional techniques: sculpting, wood, paper mache, and clay.

    • Prerequisite – Design

  • Adobe Design – 1 credit – 10th-12th – Both semesters

    • In the computer graphic class we will be working with some of the programs that Adobe provides which includes but not limited to, Photoshop, Lightroom, Illustrator, Indesign, etc.  There are many aspects of Adobe we can explore.

  • Design – 1 credit –9th-12th – Both semesters

    • Students will gain an understanding of design elements and art principles which are the foundations for effective art. This class is required before taking any other art classes.

  • Drawing – 1 credit – 10th-12th – Both semesters

    • Introductory class covering: drawing techniques, perspective & value, different mediums such as graphite, colored pencils, pastels, & ink.

    • Prerequisite – Design

  • Painting– 1 credit – 10th-12th – Both semesters

    • Students will explore and experience a variety of painting techniques, media, and historical approaches to art.

  • Photography – 1 credit –9th-12th – Both semesters

    •  Introduction to photography: history, composition, techniques, all digital photography

    • Prerequisite – Design
