2018-19 Year in Review

The wrestlers battled throughout the season. The had an amazing season trying their absolute best. We improved drastically throughout the season, grinding out tough wins and accomplishing our goals.

Looking at the team make-up, we had two freshmen. Connor Van Zee finished with a 13-12 record. Gabe Wearmouth finished with 14-21 record. The freshmen improved throughout the season. We are extremely proud of their efforts and positive attitudes and they will become leaders in the future.

The two sophomores paved the way with their growth. Jacob Facile battled to a 8-8 record. Kodie Strong finished tremendously well with a 21-10 record. Our sophomores are looking to be the driving force to a great next season. With no returning juniors on the team, they are the bread and the butter to the team.

The two seniors who stuck it out throughout the years at Montezuma. Jaedon Probasco finished his amazing career at Montezuma with a 27-7 record in his senior season. Cole Widmer finished with a 21-10 record. The seniors battled through injuries throughout the season and their careers here at Montezuma. We are so proud of you guys and hoping you have great success in the future.

Coach Kriegel

"I was very proud of our efforts from the men all season. They kept their goals in mind everyday since day one and never looked back. It makes coaching that much better when you see your athletes achieve their goals they have worked so hard for. We had guys medal at every tournament, five district qualifiers, and one state qualifier. Our Seniors built a great foundation to improve on and I hope our underclassmen can feed off each other to get achieve their goals and get to Fargo! Our team motto this season is "Brave The Journey" and it fit our team philosophy perfect because the sport of wrestling is a grind and it takes a select few to finish the season strong. We want our mindset to complete our goals as a team and individually. Brave The Journey to complete our goals and get to state!" -Head Coach, Josh Kriegel
